ASM Alauddin Al Azad

Research Associate 1 - Physical Oceanography, Coastal Engineering

Connecticut Institute for Resilience and Climate Adaptation

ASM Alauddin Al Azad is a Research Associate 1 at the Connecticut Institute for Resilience and Climate Adaptation (CIRCA). His research focuses on coastal hydrodynamics, storm surge, wind waves, coastal flooding, and sea-level variability. At CIRCA, he develops and applies high-resolution hydrodynamic and wave models to support coastal flood-risk assessment and resilience planning, with particular emphasis on understanding the physical processes that influence water levels and flooding in coastal and estuarine environments. Alauddin holds a Ph.D. in Ocean Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. His broader research interests include physical oceanography, coastal engineering, numerical modeling, wave–current interactions, coastal flood hazards, and climate-resilient coastal systems.
