Cayden Bernard
Research Intern (Summer 25-Present)
Connecticut Institute for Resilience and Climate Adaptation
As a Research Intern at CIRCA, Cayden Bernard provides support to coastal flood modeling efforts through data analysis of measured ocean data, custom scripting, and model benchmarking. Cayden is evaluating the CORA5 ocean reanalysis dataset as a boundary‐condition input for regional hydrodynamic model hindcasts, comparing reanalysis outputs against station measurements and CIRCA’s own model results. Cayden has previously worked as a research assistant at UConn for El Gato Lab under Derek Aguiar, where he assisted in developing an AI driven educational website. He is currently pursuing a BS in Computer Science with minors in Mathematics and Cognitive Science at UConn.
